The BeoPlay A3 iPad dock - designed by Steffen Schmelling - was a monolithic block which turned an (earlier) iPad into a table-top TV, video conferencing stand and portable hi-fi or typing stand, effortlessly balanced on its mathematically-angled back to suit any orientation.
“Intelligent stereo orientation’ has been added into the BeoPlay A3 to switch between its three onboard speakers and deliver left/right sound whether it is positioned in portrait or landscape mode”.
Although the BeoPlay A3 did not support the new iPad 3 in time for 21 May 2012 release date, Bang & Olufsen state that the device would be updated in good time. Price in the UK was £449.
