BeoCom 3 ISDN

BeoCom

Production: 2001 - 2006

Designer:

Available from spring 2001, the BeoCom 3 ISDN was only available in selected markets.  It was designed by Bang & Olufsen Telecom in association with Designit A/S of Denmark, the first time that this company had been commissioned to design a product for Bang & Olufsen.

The telephone used the latest ISDN available technology to allow either two telephone conversations to be held at one time or to access the Internet with one ongoing call.

Two individual ring tones could be assigned to two of the stored telephone numbers whereby a user could determine just who was telephoning.

The uniquely-shaped Beocom 3 was available in either black or blue, with its light handset residing in a specially designed ‘cup’.

The iF Design Award was given to the BeoCom 3 in 2002 for “outstanding design”.  This was the seventh time that Bang & Olufsen had been given the honour.
