BeoCord 1800

BeoCord Reel to Reel

Production: 1968 - 1970

Designer: Jacob Jensen

The Beocord 1800 (Types: 4132, 4133, 4138) stereo tape recorder was a much-respected 2- and 4-track open reel tape recorder having gained an iF Design Award in 1969 at the Hanover Fair for Jacob Jensen’s design skills.  The machine offered three-speed record/playback but no mixing facilities. It was initially designed for Jensen’s much-admired Beolab 5000 System.

It was based upon Bang & Olufsen’s Beocord 2400 but lacked power amplifiers. It was replaced in the early 1970s by the Beocord 1200.
