Technical improvements to Beocenter 7000 led to the birth of Beocenter 7002 which included metal tape compatibility, an improved pickup cartridge: the excellent MMC 20EN, and a new pickup arm. The unit was both beautiful to look at and easy to use with its remote control unit covering most of the user’s needs. The former amplifier’s 2 x 40 watt amplifier was still in use and the cassette functions and specifications all remained the same.
Like Beocenter 7000, a large LED display ensured that you were informed at all times as to the status of the music centre.
Beocenter 7002 was fitted with Bang & Olufsen’s advanced timer-track location in its cassette deck. Altogether a beautiful and very functional high-powered music system.
The purchaser could add Beovox S80 loudspeakers to the package whereby the centre was know as Beosystem 7002 (see image below) with two system storage cabinets made available as accessories: the SC50 and the SC77.
