Produced as part of the more economical Beocenter 2100, 2200 and 4000 music centres, the range of three ‘X’ speakers were manufactured with little panache, and with economy of production in mind rather than as mediums of quality sound.
Of pressure-chamber designs, these compact loudspeakers were available in just a dark grey metallic finish and were rated with their individual ‘numbers’ signifying their rated power.
Production of these small speakers ceased when production of the three music centres was terminated.
The Beovox X40 was identical to the Beovox S40, but was relabelled for certain markets.
