BeoGram 1700

BeoGram Record Decks

Production: 1980 - 08/1983

Documents: Owners Manual, Service Manual

Replacing both the Beogram 1902 and 1500 models, the Beogram 1700 was a simple and relatively basic turntable designed to appeal to customers who required ease of use with little sophistication. It was fully automatic, fitted with the reliable MMC 20S cartridge, and looked good in any of its four finishes.

The significant difference between this and the two models which it usurped was that it moved over from mechanical to electronic control. The rocker switch on its former colleagues’ deck had replaced with four electronic keys giving greater reliability and ease of use.

Linked with Beomaster 1700 or Beocenter 2600, the unit made a lovely - and economical - Bang & Olufsen music system.

A popular machine and one which offered a versatility of cartridges, Beogram 1700 was replaced by Beogram 1800 in 1984.
