BeoMaster Tuner/Amplifier
Production: 1989 - 1991
Documents: Owners Manual, Schematic, Service Manual
Following on from Beomaster 5500, this newer tuner-amplifier was fitted with the Power Link system whereby newer amplified loudspeakers - like the Beolab Penta - could be connected.
A wider selection of cabinet finishes was available for the Beomaster 6500 and a newer remote control unit, the MCP 6500, was released.
The receiver delivered 2 x 55W of pure, undistorted sound through its built-in amplifier and provided reception of the FM, LW and MW wavebands when up to twenty radio stations could be preset for later use.
In 1991 the MCP 6500 was replaced with Beolink 7000 - a move which finally said farewell to the larger Master Control Panel remotes together with their heavy battery consumption. Beolink 7000 by comparison, was a rechargeable tabletop remote terminal designed for both Beosystem 6500 and Beosystem 7000.
When connected to other 6500 components - and even with the new Beolink 7000 remote control - the complete system was known as Beosystem 6500.
