Beomaster 800 (Type 2601) was a replacement for Beomaster 1600K. It was a Beomaster 901receiver which was capable of producing 2 x 20W through its two inbuilt loudspeakers. However, the speakers themselves were only capable of accepting up to 4W, so resistors were utilized to prevent damage. The possibility was also given to the purchaser to use external speakers on the receiver - hence the relatively powerful amplifier and low-wattage loudspeakers.
Ousted by portable radios such as the Beolit 505 and 707 of the mid-1970s, combined amplifier-radios such as this lost their popularity and so the Beomaster 800 became the last of its type.
