A disappointing model overall. Similar in looks to the excellent and better-equipped Beocenter 9500, the Beocenter 8000 was a cut-down version of its bigger bother with dull ‘gunmetal grey’ aluminium covers becoming the order of the day as well as the exclusion of Power Link connectors. Beocenter 8000 therefore, was just a combined 2×80W amplifier with radio and CD player discretely undercover, with the method of combining it into a multi-room system being emasculated from it.
By saving grace, at least the cassette deck’s Dolby ‘C’ NR mechanism was left intact.
System Stand ST9500 was produced especially for accommodating the Beocenter 8500 although was equally at home with any of this particular system’s sister products such as the Beocenter 9500, 9300, 9000 and 8500.
