Beovision L2802

BeoVision

Production: 1988 - 07/1990

Designer: David Lewis

Beovision L2802 had a 28″ screen whereas its close relation, the Beovision L2502 had a smaller 25″ diagonal screen. Both were stereo models and were fitted with A2 modules with the option of including a NICAM decoder for those countries which transmitted NICAM stereo sound.

Controlled by the Beolink 1000 remote control, VisionClear was fitted a standard and so was Datalink.  Sound was rated at 2 x 15 watts through their bass reflex cabinets.

Teletext was an option (unlike the ‘LX’ models which were delivered with the module already fitted) and could be combined with the set at any time.

The Beovision L2802 could also control a video recorder via the television’s SCART lead. Signals from the Beolink 1000 handset were read by the television’s ‘eye’ fitted to the fascia which were in turn transmitted via the cable VCR in order to control video functions. This was technically made possible by using the status pin (pin-8 of the SCART cable) which generated a 12 volt electrical signal.

The Beovision L2502 was subsequently replaced by the Beovision LS5500.
