As forerunner of the Beovision MX2000, the Beovision M20 also offered a screen size of 20″ but was more basic in both its internal components and the facilities which it provided.
With its log-line speaker system situated beneath the screen offering 2 x 7W, the TV was easy to transport although was not defined as “portable” as such. It was well suited to a study, kitchen or bedroom where main set features were not required. It was fitted with a stereo decoder and could be combined with a video recorder if desired. The Video Terminal was the remote control handset offered.
Because the television was one which paved the ground for the upcoming MX-range, lessons could be learned on this set in relation to the market place. No contrast screen was fitted to protect its picture tube from dust and scratches, a facility which was later added to the combined MX range.
Not popular at the time, the television was soon after replaced by the Beovision Beovision MX2000 in 1988.
