BeoLit 600 (1965)

BeoLit FM Portable Radio

Production: 1965 - 1970

Beolit 600 (Type 1201) offered FM - unusual for the time - as well as LW, MW and Marine Band - and was one of the first transistorized radios around. It was powered internally by its batteries. Unfortunately, it was not mains powered so that new batteries would have frequently been needed!

A popular design, it was emulated by other manufacturers of the day. It had tone controls provided as well as a tuning meter and flywheel to allow for easier tuning in of stations. The radio could also handily be used with a pair of headphones as it had its headphone socket. There was also a connector for linking the radio to an external tape recorder as well as external antenna and extension speaker.
