Beocenter 3600 was the first integrated music centre with three in-built music sources. Whereas this was almost standard with other manufacturers, this was unusual for a company like B&O.
In looks Beocenter 3600 was almost identical to the Beocenter 1800, and so shared the same strengths and weaknesses. The cassette deck was fitted with Dolby B NR and could play Chrom Dioxid as well as standard ferric oxide tapes. What was another first for Beocenter 3600 was that it had an LED level indicator - whereas other companies were offering this feature, it was a first for Bang & Olufsen. On the record deck, the MMC 3000 pickup was fitted as standard.
Beocenter 3600 was replaced eventually by Beocenter 4600.
Because of its relative rarity Beocenter 3600 is considered nowadays to be a bit of a collectors’ item!
