Beocenter 8500 was just a little better equipped than Beocenter 8000, whose very innards had been stripped it seemed, in order to make it a cheaper deal. Again with Beocenter 8500r its external aluminium covers were finished in dull grey, instead of the more visually attractive shiny covers of its cousins, Beocenter 9500 and Beocenter 9300. Programming facilities too were taken away as well as no two-way remote control being made available. Instead, the one-way Beolink 1000 was the remote control which was recommended for use with the unit. However, it did have its own similarly-designed record deck, the Beogram 8500 which could be purchased as an additional extra as well as multi-room capabilities.
System stand ST9500 was produced especially for accommodating the Beocenter 8500 although was equally at home with any of this particular system’s sister products such as the Beocenter 9500, 9300, 8000 and 8500.
