BeoGram CD3300

BeoGram Compact Disk Players

Production: 1987 - 04/1990

Documents: Schematic, Owners Manual

By the mid-eighties, compact discs as a way of playing sound sources were becoming more and more popular, having been introduced to the world’s markets by Philips in 1981.  Beogram CD3300 was therefore marketed to customers who wished to add this optical media to their system. Up to that time, Bang & Olufsen’s free-standing CDX could be used (which was similarly-looking) to add a CD-playback facility to an existing stereo system. But Beogram CD3300 was designed - along with the other models that had been in production for a year or two, notably Beogram CD50 and Beogram CD5500 - integral to that of a specific Bang & Olufsen music system. It could also be operated remotely through Beomaster 3300 using Datalink.

Beogram CD3300 was replaced by Beogram CD3500 whose ability - through differently designed mechanics - was one of being able to be hung on the wall.

Not too popular nowadays because of its looks, but there again, Bang & Olufsen always did dare to be different!
