Made up from other products within the Bang & Olufsen range, Beocenter 3500 was comprised of Beogram 3000 and Beomaster 3000. With six pre-set stations in the top-quality radio section, the amplifier delivered a good 2 x 40W per channel, unusual for a combined stereo system such as this. An illuminated tuning indicator and a signal-strength meter assisted with the tuning in of distant radio stations.

A comprehensive range of connection facilities were also included. There were facilities for two pairs of loudspeakers, headphones and a tape recorder with monitoring. The record-player was fully automatic with one master-control for operating all functions. The user had just to select the size of disc to be played and the rest was done for you. An SP 10A pickup was fitted as standard.

The system could be expanded with a tape recorder, such as the Beocord 1800 reel-to-reel deck. There was also the facility for another record deck to be connected if desired. Although Beovox 3800 loudspeakers were recommended, almost any of the speakers in the B&O range could be used.

A replacement for Beocenter 3500 came with Beocenter 7000 in 1980.
