Another 26″ receiver in Bang & Olufsen’s range of 26″ colour TV models, the Beovision 8800 included a 14 watts log-line loudspeaker system made up of an 10cm and a 5cm speaker.
It was identical to the Beovision 7700 and Beovision 5500 with the exception that this was the biggest screen of the threesome. Up to sixteen stations could be electronically tuned. It operation was by way of the Video Terminal remote control. The Beovision 5500 / 7700 / 8800 range was the first range of Beovision television sets equipped with an infra-red remote control.
Connections were included on the set for an extension loudspeaker as well as to a hi-fi system. There was also a headphone socket fitted.
An easy-glide undercarriage at 34 cm in height was provided for mounting the set and it had optional accessories of a Bang & Olufsen Loop Amplifier for the hard of hearing as well as a Teletext decoder and a Video FBAS kit.
Beovision 8800 was replaced in by the Beovision 8802 after the end of its market availability in 1984.
