Beovision 6000 was a luxurious and beautiful-looking piece of furniture containing a 26″ colour TV receiver. Finished in rich, natural wooden veneers, the user slid a front-facing door along its tracks to gain access to the TV. The set came with its own ultrasonic remote control handset, the first in the Bang & Olufsen colour TV range to do so. The Beosystem 6000 music centre, headed by its quadraphonic sound receiver, Beomaster 6000 was on sale at the same time which too came with its own ultrasonic remote control facility.
The TV set’s remote control permitted the user to store eight pre-selected channels and summon them immediately upon pressing one of the tactile buttons. Likewise volume, colour intensity and brightness could also be changed. A stand-by button was also incorporated on the handset.
