Beocenter 4600 replaced Beocenter 3600 and had the added advantage that MW and LW bands were added to the sensitive radio. The amplifier was rated at 2 x 25W and powered the S35 loudspeakers effectively.
The cassette section incorporated Dolby B and had a ‘memory stop’ at ‘000′. Both Chrom Dioxid and normal tapes could be used.
The turntable arm was fitted with built-in bias compensation and held the MMC 20S pickup cartridge.
Beocenter 4600
When used with other suitable Bang & Olufsen products, the combined unit was known as the Beosystem 4600.
At the end of its life, Beocenter 4600 was replaced by two further models: the advanced-technology Beocenter 5000 and Beocenter 2002/2000 which was based on quantity rather than quality!
