All good things must come to an end, and in this particular case, it was a good product which finally went to the end of its long-lived cycle. The Beogram 7000 was the last turntable in a long line of wonderful pieces of machinery which passed before it.  Bang & Olufsen turntables are - at least for Bang & Olufsen collectors - true works of art and provide something special which other manufacturers do not offer.  So with Beogram 7000, a long line of preceding turntables finally came to pass. But times move on and technology slowly changes and continuously reinvents itself.

What also changed was that after this period, the production of separates to use in component systems, side-by-side, or top-to-bottom, ceased as well. It was an unfortunate time for purchasers of Bang & Olufsen in that from then on; one could not just walk into a B&O store to purchase a new individual component which had just been released, or do an exchange on an item that one wished to improve upon.  Instead, Bang & Olufsen products became major purchases, and with that new philosophy, Bang & Olufsen commanded significant prices to go with them.

Looking little different - either internally or externally - the Beogram 7000 retained all of its Beogram 6500 features. The update from 6500 to 7000 was purely cosmetic and as a result of Beosystem 7000’s other components changing since their last inception.
